THE WEATHERED ROAD

Local artist Christopher Bell is the keystone to the Weathered Road, a band deeply rooted in and well known to southwestern Pennsylvania. Their acoustic music blends the genres of singer-songwriter, folk, traditional and newgrass to create an Americana sound all their own. We all walk the weathered road. Christopher Bell (guitar, vocals); Chris Putt (lead guitar), Ryan Kantner (bass), and Brian Ganch (percussion).

TIGER MAPLE STRING BAND

Tiger Maple String Band is an energetic collection of talented musicians from western Pennsylvania dedicated to continuing traditional and original old time music. Their sound is rich in historical and cultural values, beautiful harmonies, hot old time fiddling and full body richness that only acoustic instruments and clear vocals can bring. Alison Parker (fiddle); Barry Smith (banjo & vocals); Jeff Scheller (bass), and Fred Parker (guitar & vocals).

18 STRINGS

18 Strings is an acoustic string trio based out of Morgantown, WV. The three members come from different musical backgrounds spanning from jazz to folk and rock to classical. The result is a seamless fusion of styles that incorporate smart songwriting, tight harmonies, refined instrumental technique and an airtight groove. Andy Tuck (guitar, vocals, harmonica); Chris Jones (madolin & fiddle), and Greg Thurman (bass).

RODDY BARNES & IAN WALTERS

We wrap up our Winter Music Series with blues piano masters Roddy Barnes and Ian Walters. Roddy Barnes is an accomplished singer-songwriter, and a master of blues, jazz, gospel and boogie-woogie piano based in Richmond, Virginia. Roddy performed for many years in New Orleans, and Austin, has released eight of his own albums, and has been featured at festivals and on national radio programs. Joining Roddy is Ian Walters from Washington, DC. Ian’s unique piano sound and inventive interpretations of great old blues tunes make him a highly sought-after blues performer in Washington, DC. Recently he has been performing with the blues legend Phil Wiggins as a member of the Chesapeake Sheiks.
